Canadian Experience Class

Express Entry

Your Pathway to Permanent Residency in Canada

The Canadian Experience Class (CEC) is a fantastic immigration program designed for skilled workers who have already gained valuable work experience in Canada and wish to transition to permanent residents. It’s a popular option for temporary foreign workers and international graduates seeking to establish themselves permanently in Canada.

Benefits of the CEC

  • Fast Processing: CEC boasts some of the fastest processing times within the Express Entry system, with applications potentially being processed in as little as 3-4 months.
  • Favorable Pathway: Having Canadian work experience positions you well for permanent residency through the CEC program.
  • Skilled Worker Focus: The CEC streamlines immigration for those with in-demand skills and experience in Canada’s labor market.

Eligibility for the CEC

  • Work Experience: You’ll need at least 1 year of continuous full-time (or equivalent in part-time) skilled work experience in Canada within the last 3 years.
  • Occupation: Your work experience must be in a National Occupational Classification (NOC) 0, 1, 2 or 3 teer categories.
  • Language Skills: You must meet the minimum language requirements in English or French through approved language tests.
  • Express Entry Profile: You’ll need a valid Express Entry profile to be considered for a CEC invitation to apply (ITA).

How the CEC Works

  1. Eligibility Assessment: Determine if you meet the minimum requirements for the CEC program.
  2. Express Entry Profile: Create your profile in the Express Entry system, highlighting your skills, education, and work experience.
  3. Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) Score: The CRS scores candidates based on various factors. A high CRS score increases your chances of receiving an ITA.
  4. Invitation to Apply (ITA): If your CRS score is competitive, you’ll receive an ITA to submit a complete permanent residence application.
  5. Permanent Residence Application: Submit your application with all necessary documents and proof as outlined by Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC).
  6. Processing and Decision: IRCC will process your application and make a final decision on your permanent residence status.
