Eligibility Requirements

To qualify for FSTP, you must meet the minimum requirements in several areas:

• Skilled Trade Work Experience: You’ll need at least two years of continuous full-time work experience (or equivalent part-time) in a skilled trade listed in Canada’s National Occupational Classification (NOC)
• Trade Qualification: You’ll need to provide proof of qualification in your skilled trade from a Canadian regulatory body or through an equivalency process.
• Language Ability: You’ll need to show moderate proficiency in English or French through an approved language test.
• Education: You may need to provide proof of education credentials.
• Proof of Funds: You’ll need to show you have enough funds to support yourself and your family upon arrival in Canada.
• Admissibility: You must meet Canada’s general immigration requirements.
